Case Study: Ford Transit Cage Tipper Conversion

We completed the conversion of a Ford Transit L2 Single Cab into a Cage Tipper with additional specifications. This build was designed to enhance functionality, safety, and durability while ensuring a high standard of usability for day-to-day operations.

Conversion Highlights

3.5t Praevia Tipper with Full Steel Cage

The Praevia Tipper body was selected for its durability and practicality, offering a robust tipping solution for transporting materials. A full 6'6" internal steel cage was integrated, complete with a high-level brake light, nearside sliding door, and rear barn doors with trailer locks. The design ensures secure containment while maintaining ease of access for loading and unloading.

Heavy-Duty Roof Netting

To further enhance security, heavy-duty netting was added to the roof of the cage, providing an extra layer of containment for loose materials while in transit.

Coffin-Style Tool Box

A front-mounted Coffin-Style Tool Box was installed, offering secure storage for tools and equipment. This heavy-duty storage solution ensures valuable items are protected from theft and the elements.

Enhanced Safety & Visibility

Several safety and visibility enhancements were incorporated into the build, including:

Rear Parking Sensors: Helping drivers manoeuvre safely in tight spaces.
Reverse Camera with 7″ TFT LCD Clip-on Mirror Monitor: Mounted on the beacon bracket on the headboard.
Wheel Nut Indicators: Fitted to all wheels to provide a clear visual check of any potential wheel movement.
CPD Standard LED Beacon Mini LightBar: A R65-approved amber beacon was mounted on the beacon bracket on the headboard for increased visibility in low-light and high-traffic environments.
